Behaviour
Typically, the Wolf will walk at a slow pace, stop and graze nearby food.
If a player steps within roughly a 10 block radius of a Wolf, the Wolf will run away from the player, sometimes in an erratic pattern, to avoid being hurt.
Players can get closer to the Wolf before it runs by wearing Camo Clothing.
Hunting
A Wolf can only be killed with the Bow and Arrows.
Once killed, the Wolf will die where it stands and the player can then retrieve the carcass to be processed.
Strategy
- Since they are very adept at climbing hills, try to hunt Wolves in open areas. This way, you can keep an eye on them during the chase.
Real Life Facts
The wolf is a mammal of the order Carnivora, and the ancestor of the domestic dog. The wolf is in fact even of the same species (Canis lupus) as the domestic dog (Canis lupus familiaris). Of all other animals in the game the wolf is most closely related to the coyote (Canis latrans), and wolves are known to be able to hybridise with members of this species in real life[1]
