The [[Hewn Log]] is a [[Housing#Building_Materials|Tier 1]] construction material made from [[Log]]s.

Hewn Logs can be placed in various block forms for construction while a [[hammer]] is active. Click the button to the left of the toolbar, ''or'' hold '''Left Shift''' + Mouse Wheel Scroll.

As an important early building material (along with [[Mortared Stone]]), it is used as an ingredient for several [[skill book]]s.

== Crafting ==

Hewn Logs can be crafted at both the [[Workbench]] and the [[Carpentry Table]], but once the [[Hewing]] skill is learned, only the recipe at the Carpentry Table becomes more efficient and levels up the Hewing skill. The Workbench recipe is only intended for players just starting out.
