The surface of the desert is made up of dirt that is textured to look like sand, when looked at, it will display as [[Desert Sand]].
Below that is a thick layer of [[Sandstone]] that extends down to about 20 blocks in depth, and spans the entire desert biome.

A Desert biome is a sandy environment covered in Sagebrush and the only place you can find Prickly Pear Fruit and Saguaro Cactus. It has the second highest temperature and a relatively low moisture content, similar to Grasslands.

On the world map, it appears as a golden-orange landscape. Desert tiles texture have an appearance of sand.
