A Desert biome is a sandy environment covered in Sagebrush and the only place you can find Prickly Pear Fruit and Saguaro Cactus. It has the second highest temperature and a relatively low moisture content, similar to Grasslands.
On the world map, it appears as a golden-orange landscape. Desert tiles texture have an appearance of sand.

The surface of the desert is made up of dirt that is textured to look like sand, when looked at, it will display as Desert Sand.

Iron Ore (almost guaranteed)
Granite and Limestone also spawn in large pockets underground in the desert.
