Editing Room

A room in Eco is some space encased by building blocks. Rooms are required for [[crafting stations]], [[Store|Stores]], [[Research Tables]] and other objects to work. They can also be a source of [[Skill Points]] through [[Housing]].
==Room Requirements==
A room is any area that meets the following requirements:
*Enclosed: The area is enclosed on all sides with at least [[Housing#Tier 0|Tier 0]] materials. This includes a floor, walls, and a roof.
* Doors: Rooms may have one or more single or double [[door|doors]]. Also allowed are empty doorways that are 2 blocks tall by 1 block wide.
* Windows: The area may have one or multiple [[windows]] of any size. Also allowed are empty holes that are up to 1 block tall by 2 blocks wide.
You can check if a room has the requirements by typing <code>/rooms test</code> in the chat.
==Room Tiers==
Many rooms are required to be built out of specific materials for various
[[crafting stations|Crafting Stations]]
or the [[Research Table]]. You can check the Tier of your Room by using the Status Menu on your crafting stations or by typing the command <code>/rooms test</code> in the chat.

There are currently 5 Tiers in Eco, Tier 0 to Tier 4. Most players start out by building houses out of [[Hewn Logs]] or [[Mortared Stone]], which are Tier 1 materials. Up to 2 wide or 2 high holes in the walls of your room count as Tier 0. The blocks connecting your wall with the floor or ceiling also count towards the room requirement, even though they can sometimes be fairly hidden.

* Kitchen
* Bathroom
* Bedroom
* Industrial
* Living Room
The Room Type is defined by the [[Furniture]] placed inside a room.

General, Kitchen, Bathrooms and Bedrooms count towards [[Housing]] values. Industrial rooms provide no [[Skill Points]].
==Volume Requirements==
[[Crafting stations]] and the [[research table]] may also require that a room has a specific volume. The total volume of a room is calculated with its dimensions in meters <math>width \times length \times height = volume</math>, measured in {{unit|m3}}. Each [[crafting station]] or [[research table]] in the room takes up a certain volume within a room, most commonly {{unit|25|m3}}. The total volume used by all [[crafting stations]] or [[research table]]s is added together and compared against the total room volume. If the room volume is lower, then the crafting stations will not function.

==Notes==
Window holes cannot be placed in the roof of a building. However, [[windows]] can be.

A room does not need to have an outer frame to be classed as a room. All it requires is blocks in cardinal directions. This could be an exploit.

Floors, walls and roofs can be crafted with any block shapes. For example you can craft room with only roof shape.

Any type of block shape can be used to construct a room, this means that shapes like the roof shape could be used for the floor, walls and roof.
