Template:Infobox Item Gold Ore is a naturally occurring Resource in the world. It can be found within Granite.

It appears to be most common in Rainforest, 40-70 blocks under sea level but can be found in many different biomes.

Gold Ore can be mined and refined to create Gold Bars.

Appearance

Gold Ore veins have light streaks running through them with a subtle gold color. They are easiest to find in the Jungle, but when found in Granite they look similar to the surrounding Granite and can be easy to overlook.

Location

The information here is based on default ("vanilla") settings and may not be accurate in worlds with custom configurations or mods enabled. Gold ore always spawns within Granite.

Rainforest

  • 15% chance, 42-45 blocks below surface
  • 0.2% chance, 1-20 blocks below surface - with 6-14 blocks
  • 0.05% chance, 50-55 blocks below surface - with 15-55 blocks
  • 0.02% chance, at surface - with 3-8 blocks

Note

  • It can also be found above surface within Granite. It has a gold coloured texture on the minimap. this is the easiest way to find gold so far.
This is how gold ore looks like on the mini-map
