History

Before Version 7.4 the Pump Jack's best location to be placed on the oil layer map was the darker purple areas. This has since been reversed and is now the White areas.

-The [[Pump Jack]] is a [[Crafting Table Tag|Crafting Table]] made at the [[Assembly Line]]. When placed, it can produce [[Petroleum]]. The speed of production is determined by how much oil is available in the block it's placed on.
-There is no building requirement for the Pump Jack. It takes up a volume of 2x4x5 when placed.
-Even though the Pump Jack has ports to connect [[Pipe|Pipes]], those are non-functional. The Pump Jack needs to be supplied with empty barrels in order to produce petroleum. This is best done by placing a [[Stockpile]] in the Area.
-The best way to find a location to place a Pump Jack is to look at the oil layer on the map. When placed in an area were the oil layer is white, it will produce 1 [[Petroleum]] barrel in less than 1 minute. When the area is purple it will produce 1 [[Petroleum]] barrel approximately every 5min or more. Therefore, the white or yellow areas are the better locations to place a Pump Jack (as of Version 7.4).
-These times are estimates as depending on the world the rate oil is spread may be less or more and the time will either increase or decrease.
