The Skid Steer is a vehicle that can excavate Dirt, Stone and other blocks. It is similar to the Excavator, but is smaller and more agile, and has a smaller carrying capacity.

In-game Description

Operating Instructions

While you are in the driver's seat, you are shown 1 control slot (in slot "1") and 4 storage slots in your hotbar. Mouseover the "1" slot to view the operating instructions tooltip. Pressing the 1 key will toggle between Driving Mode and Digging Mode, much like that with the Excavator. Unlike the Excavator, however, switching into Digging mode will not halt your movement, but rather lock your viewing angle in its current direction.

Driving Mode

• 1 — Toggle into Digging Mode
• W — Accelerate forward
• S — Reverse
• A — Turn Left
• D — Turn Right
• E — Enter/exit the vehicle (Target engine or bucket while off vehicle to access storage/fuel)
• Mouse — Free look

Digging Mode

• 1 — Toggle into Driving Mode
• W — Accelerate forward
• S — Reverse
• A — Turn Left
• D — Turn Right
• E — Enter/exit the vehicle
• Mouse Up/Down Axes — Raise/Lower bucket
• Mouse Right/Left Axes — Tilt Up/ Tilt Down bucket
• Mouse Left Click — Hold down to dig. Blocks that intersect the front of the bucket will be broken and collected into inventory
• Mouse Right Click — Press to drop/place the currently selected block from inventory.
