Rock

Various types of rock can be found within the Eco world, most of it under the Dirt layer. Different rock types hold different ores, and can be valuable in their own right for crafting.

With Eco Beta 8.0, six rock types were added to the game: Sandstone, Shale, Limestone, Granite, Gneiss, and Basalt.

Harvesting

To be collected, all rock must be broken up with the Pickaxe, then collected by hand in stacks of 20. It can be placed in a crossed 2x2 pattern, with 4 items taking up 1 block of space. These blocks can create house walls, but will have to be picked up or put in a Stockpile to be used for crafting.

Rock tiers

Some rocks can only be broken up and harvested with a certain tier of pickaxe.

Tier 1

These can be broken with any pickaxe, including the Stone Pickaxe

• Sandstone
• Shale

Tier 2

These can be broken with the Iron Pickaxe, or the Stone Pickaxe with the Mining perk Tool Strength.

• Limestone
• Granite

Tier 3

These can be broken with the Steel Pickaxe, or the Iron Pickaxe with the Mining perk Tool Strength.

• Gneiss

Tier 4

These can be destroyed with the Modern Pickaxe, or the Steel Pickaxe with the Mining perk Tool Strength.
