&lt;div&gt;A Desert biome is a sandy environment covered in [[Sagebrush]] and the only place you can find [[Prickly Pear Fruit]] and [[Saguaro Cactus]]. It has the second highest temperature and a relatively low moisture content, similar to [[Grasslands]].&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
On the world map, it appears as a golden-orange landscape. Desert tiles texture have an appearance of sand.&lt;br /&gt;

The surface of the desert is made up of dirt that is textured to look like sand, when looked at, it will display as [[Desert Sand]].&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Below that is a thick layer of [[Sandstone]] that extends down to about 20 blocks in depth, and spans the entire desert biome.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
From 20 to 30 blocks below the surface is a band of [[Iron Ore]] that also spans the entire desert biome. There is also another band of Iron Ore right above the bedrock layer.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
[[Granite]] and [[Limestone]] also spawn in large pockets underground in the desert.&lt;br /&gt;

&lt;div&gt;Desert Sand is [[Dirt]] that has been textured to look like sand. It makes up the entire surface layer of the [[Desert]].&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
When picked up, desert sand will revert back to dirt to be stored in an inventory. When the dirt is placed back down in the desert biome, the texture will change to desert sand again after some time.&lt;/div&gt;</summary>
